​Martial arts are a high-aerobic workout that uses every muscle group in the body. Your muscle tone, strength, flexibility, stamina, and balance will all improve through martial arts. Due to the total-body nature of a martial arts workout, 500 calories can be burned during every class. Regular exercise has been proven to combat depression, and it is just as effective in eliminating stress and anxiety. Our classes are a fun way to get healthy!

SELF CONFIDENCE

​Setting goals and working hard to achieve those goals produces a real sense of achievement. Success becomes a habit and you become more comfortable in all situations. Knowing you can handle yourself in a dangerous situation also brings greater self assurance- whether you are in danger or just in a position outside of your comfort zone at work or school.

Furthermore, students develop faster reflexes and improves reaction time which makes a person more athletic. Many professional athletes cross train in martial arts to improve their athleticism.

​Martial arts is not only great physical exercise, but it is also an excellent exercise of the mind. Martial Artists have sharper focus, improved mental reflexes and enhanced cognitive clarity. Learning a new activity stimulates memory and high-level thinking in the brain, slowing the rate the brain ages and stimulating the brain to be a faster learner.

​Self Defense training is like insurance, you’re glad you have it when you need it. Our simple and pragmatic approach to self-defense will have you reacting effectively in the shortest possible time. Repetition develops skill. Simplicity minimizes hesitation and mistakes. Using the best weapons, on the most vulnerable targets, as quickly as possible, are what our students are conditioned to do.

COMMUNITY

​Studies show that exercising in a group class helps your motivation because you don’t feel like you are working out all alone and you are more likely to stick to achieving your goals. You will have an instructor who acts as a personal trainer to encourage and motivate you and your classmates. There is something about being in a community that helps to spur you on and you can look forward to the social aspect of being in a class.
